| I recall as a child going to the Plaza to watch various films, listen to the organ as it rose from the pit, stare at the ceiling from the balcony to watch the twinkling stars in the ceiling, and enjoy the feeling of being outside in a garden setting. I was always amazed at the interior architecture of the theater. All the thought and detail to the design of the theater made the place seem magical. The theater was truly a palace. It would be wonderful if the community of El Paso renovated the structure to its original state and utilized it for films, theater, musical events and possibly to be used as additional area for convention meetings or events. Hopefully, in one of my future visits to El Paso I will be able to sit down in the theater and experience all the magic once again. |
